Sorry - missed this first time around.

The Win32 package has had a history of not performing as well as the
*nix versions. It has also had a few problems with FreeBSD, and seems
to perform best on a Linux distro. I've never used the Win32 package,
though, and it may be just fine now.

However, I use FreeBSD exclusively for my open source OS, and it runs
fine on that.
