I could be wrong but I believe this is the first release that should be uninstalling previous versions, starting with update 10. Maybe it is hanging on trying to uninstall update 10. That assumes update 10 was even installed. You could try removing update 10 then running your GP to see if it hangs or not.
I personally have not tried applying that update yet.
