Jason From: Kevan Dickinson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, January 23, 2009 12:00 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Proxy.pac problem Hi We are trying to use a proxy.pac file to direct our users internet connections out via our internet gateway. I am sure that the .pac file is written correctly but IE7 seems to ignore it completely. The file is stored locally on everyone's PC and the box is ticked in Internet Options to "Use automatic configuration script". The path to the file is written as File://c:/logon/proxy.pac <file:///c:\logon\proxy.pac> What settings might there be that would cause IE to ignore the .pac file when it is specifically requested to use it. Automatically detect settings is unticked. As is Use a Proxy server for your LAN. If I do tick Use a Proxy Server then I do go out via the Internet Gateway. However the proxy.pac file contains settings that we want users to use that can not be set by just ticking the Use a proxy server box. Does anyone have any ideas? Regards.
