We have a wave of text message based phishing going around here in
Indianapolis that started about 2 weeks ago.

I am soapboxing here a little but I feel like the spammers have really
screwed up this time.

Before when the phished using email it didn't hurt anyone but us admins
and those unlucky enough to respond with real data.

But now they are texting a large number of people and for those service
providers that have been sticking it to their customers for 10 and 15
cents a message this will become costly quick. Which means the
authorities will be able to hit that magical $10k amount quicker and be
able to act on the phishers. Whereas in the past if a phisher couldn't
be proven to cause $10k an incident they were ignored.

I am rambling.

I am done soapboxing.

I hope this round of phishing really bits them is the @$$.
