Have you downloaded and installed the latest Proliant Support Pack (8.1 I 
think)? That's the one stop source for updating everything. Gen4 servers aren't 
that old though - I can't see why this wouldn't work. Do you have the same 
problem with 2003 on the same boxes? Have you called HP Proliant support?

Hi all, hoping someone has seen this. We have put W2K8 on a couple of the 
aforementioned servers, and the fans are staying at full pelt at all times, 
even with the latest bios updates etc from HP.

As anyone come across this, and if so, is there a patch that shuts the bl**dy 
fans up?
