iirc correctly, I think the e-series did away with alternate hardware
profile for docked/undocked, if that helps drive your conquest for a
solution...

As for alternatives to control point... I think I am stuck using it
since I have an internal Sprint Broadband card :( The old Dell
software took about 2 clicks to connect, Control Point takes about 7.

Oh, and get this. Dell's connection manager software does not support
wi-fi yet. 'A release will be made soon'. Yeah... fail.

I agree on the Software but I don't like the docking station much. I
have been having issues with it hanging on the docking station but it
may just be the docking station.

E6500 here too, very impressed. Solid as a rock. Not too found
of the new Dell Control Point software though...

I just got my E6500, and I have to say so far I'm impressed. Its
internal components are all accessible from the bottom and the
magnesium chassis feels much stronger than the plastic ones.

This is my first time really getting my hands on a Dell Latitude
E4500 since Dell went away from the D series. (The ones we have sold in
the last couple months have been installed by my lakey.)

Is it me, or are these being made in the same factory as the
Lenovo's? It looks to me like they could use the same docking station,
batteries and other accessories. Is this by design and I totally missed
that memo or what?
