Maybe this? http://www.alfresco.com/products/dm/ gives you a shared drive, so it looks like a traditional file share.

Off the top of my head & relatively low cost that I've setup for a few users in the past: Office Live for sharing Office documents Google Apps Hosted Microsoft SharePoint/office by Microsoft or a third party vendor SharePoint Services w/ ISA Server 2006 MOSS 2007 & ISA 2006 if you're willing to buy the hardware & licenses - (my personal favorite at the moment) There's always WebDAV access to an existing file server, but it's a pain to manage, and have never done it with ISA.
