Ah! But you don't need to be paying for that $19,95. Their EULA states that their service is free and that yo don't need the USB interface to a POT Phone. The charge is to get you a phone number in your area. If you have a headset/mic then you can use their service to make computer to computer calls.
Now, in my case, my dad is 'old school'. He wanted to pay the initial $39.95 that they initially were offering on the infomercial. I have been using Skype for over two years and only have had to pay for the phone number for the few months before I moved to Louisville, KY. I used a local number to Louisville so that the recruiters only called a number with a 502 area code. Since all of my brothers and sisters have computer, and Skype, we just needed to get my dad to convert. He now has Skype, and he loves it. He even got the phone number for the year. He was paying over $140 for an old land line through AT&T. If you want to use Magic Jack, by all means, that is your option. To me, it was the USB to RJ11 device. If something goes wrong with that item, do you need to purchase another one? Or do they provide a replacement at no charge?
