Hi chaps,

I'm looking for a solution to something that has me stumped. Our users use
folder redirection for their desktop and documents folders (all vista users).
This works well internally at each site. The question has now come up as to how
to allow a user from SiteA to log on to SiteB and get their data.

The network folders are all stored in Sharepoint, and while users *should* put
their company data in sharepoint, as we all know, they don't always do that.
Management have decided that they should be able to log on at any site AND get
their profiles.

The only workable solution I can see is to use DFS to sync redirected folders
between servers at each site, and set the GPO to point to
\\domain\dfs-share<file://\\domain\dfs-share> etc. However, back in the real
world, each site has basic ADSL services (8mb down .8mb up) and so if a user
dumps something large in their desktop or doc folder, the ADSL will die under
the strain of syncing it. Mix that in with online backups and updates etc, and
I'm not sure it will work.

Using Vista and 2008, is there any other solution to this issue? Anything more
managable? Or is this the proper way of doing it ?

Olly
