I just got two DV6000's on my desk with similar fatal
problems<http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=uk&docname=c01087194>,
just out of warranty. HP even has special out of warranty repair service free
of charge for this specific set of problems, but these two notebooks are not in
the batch's listed. Their phone support acknowledged this was a hardware
problem, and offered to sell *after the fact* a one-time or package of phone
support minutes. I said, this helps me how? He actually said "It probably
wouldn't." Over the last few months I've seen several consumer HP notebooks and
tablets with uncommon just out of warranty trouble. I wouldn't buy an HP
laptop. I know they always have the best specs for the money at brick and
mortar stores, but the reason is the quality is poor.
