Does anyone know of the availability of any tools for measuring CIFS/SMB performance? To cut a long story short, users access Windows Server 2003 SP1 file servers via SSL VPN solution (Citrix Access Gateway/Secure Access Client), but file transfer operations sporadically fail resulting in errors (on XP client) such as "*cannot copy filename: the specified network name is no longer available*". I'm aware XP's SMB 2.0 protocol is known to be notoriously "flaky" over the Internet (high latency network connections et al), but I'd like to run a troubleshooting tool of sorts that will give me some idea of what's going on under the hood. Any thoughts? Is there a resource kit tool or something similar that "measures" CIFS/SMB performance end-to-end? Thanks in advance,
