Moving files, over any form of gsm/cdma wireless tends to be dog slow,
due to the high latency

Using TS seems like a good way round it.

You could also investigate steelhead mobile from riverbed.

Cheers

Users are domain users with laptops connected via Verizon Aircards. We
use a program that syncs data collected in the field to a file server.
The users sometimes move files around on the server, that's were the
issue is. The syncing work great is the move that hurts.... Will most
likely make them uses our TS server to move things around on the server.

Subject: Questions about VPN and moving files

We recently setup a VPN so users can sync files from their laptop
computer to a network share for an application that we use. While on
the VPN it appears that if I want to move a file from Folder A on the
SERVER SHARE to Folder B the file is transferred from Folder A (on
server) --> laptop computer then --> Folder B (on server). Over a slow
link this makes moving files around VERY SLOW. Is there a better way
to move files around over a VPN.

Matt
