One of the weak points with domestic-grade ADSL routers is
the fact that they store passwords in plain text.

If one is able to access the router's configuration by logging into the
box (default p/w: admin/admin, admin/password, etc.), it is easy to save
the configuration to a file on your system. Examining that file will
normally reveal the ISP login/password.

The first check I make when I take on a new client. Second is to
recommend upgrading the hardware.
