Yah, I've had a USB-with-cable-to-IDE/SATA gizmo similar to that one for a couple years. Handy to have, for things like making disk images, reading files on trashes OS installs, etc. My model has regular, "laptop", and SATA ports. Came with a separate power brick with Molex out (handy for other things, too). Also has a Molex-to-SATA power adapter and a short SATA cable to connect the gizmo to the drive. I've found that on some hard disks, the molding on the gizmo, or the USB cable, blocks access to the power jack on the hard drive. I'm keep meaning to buy a short IDE ribbon male-to-female cable to work around that. -- Ben ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
