Might not be the owner of everything. Take ownership of folders/files in question before moving and see what that does.

I am consolidating public & shared network garbage (I mean "user files" of course) and trying to move one folder into another folder on the same drive. Server 2008 is protecting me and telling me I need permission, even though I am logged on with a domain admins account which is the owner of everything in it... I am sure there is a simple tick in a check box somewhere that I need to wrestle for control, but can for the life of me see past the short skirts walking by in the window... help! (...and not with the skirts) TIA, Aci ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
