We use the netbotz, although I haven't got it set up for archiving, you could take a look at Xprotect from milestone, it works with a lot of the IP cameras out there.
You can try it with one camera for free. http://www.milestonesys.com/downloads/free_xprotect_license we use it with axis network camera range without any problems.
