At the risk of being labeled OCD, I admit to using the paper towel to
open the bathroom door on the way out, simply because I know some folks
don't wash up afterward. No other doors between there and my cube.
And I wash up afterward if I have to work on other people's computers,
particularly in cold and flu season.
If we have to replace the phone, the handset remains with the
workstation as long as it still works.
We have anti-static wipes made by Chem-Ware Corporation that contain
alcohol that we use to clean and disinfect keyboards, mouses, screens,
phones, etc.
If the keyboard or mouse is too nasty, it gets pitched.

I work with Monk, seriously, I do. This guy keeps hand sanitizer at his
desk, uses it many times during the day. Goes to the restroom, washes
his hands (apparently because I'm not there to know 100% for sure), then
hangs on to the paper towels that he dried his hands on to open doors to
get back to his desk, throws away the paper towels, and then uses his
hand sanitizer....I could keep you all entertained for a while with
stories about him.....

We have an on call Blackberry that rotates through our group, when he
gets it for his rotation, he sanitizes it with Clorox wipes I believe,
or something like that, and then will sanitize it before it goes to the
next person, which is usually me. I would not ever think about doing
that unless I or the person that gave it to me had a cold while they had
the phone.

Hey, in all seriousness, what about something like the
sanitizing Clorox wipes? I've used those on keyboards and mice, etc in
the past (obviously with the PC turned off.) Do you think that would be
OK on a phone?
