This model specifies "removable drives" only. It's my only HP, and my Dell
servers don't have this issue. I'll have to contact HP about it.

OK well I wonder I do not have a Proliant GL110 so I cannot test this, but in
the boot order you list USB drive at the bottom is that correct? Some Bios
settings differentiate between removable USB devices and USB Hard Drives. They
will list the USB Hard Drives with the other Hard Drives, so you have to
specify which Hard Drives go first not just look for USB Devices.

Subject: Server wants to boot from USB drive

I have an HP Proliant GL110 server for a remote office. I use NT backups to a
USB drive. When the USB device is connected to the server and powered on, the
server seems to attempt to boot to the USB drive and I get "operating system
not found".

I unplug the USB drive and the system boots normally.

I changed the boot order in the bios to put "removable drives" last, but that
has no impact. It cannot be disabled via BIOS boot order, unfortunately.

Suggestions?
