I've been seeing that recently, too. All in Gmail, on two different PCs. One running Ubuntu and Firefox. The other running Win XP Pro SP2, in both Firefox and MSIE 6. It mostly seems to be with quotes and apostrophes. Perhaps related to the phenomenon Demoroniser[1] was designed to fix?
