Its definately possible, as I have done it accidentally before in Vista.
Its just takes a manipulation of he input/output settings in the audio
control panel.  Mine was control panel from the manufacture ASUS and was
quite easy to do.  I suppose it could be more difficult depending on the
control panel app.
