Yeah... It was TigerVNC (an off shoot of TightVNC) that said that on their 
mailing list. I get no errors, I just can't connect. I wonder if I can pull the 
logs off the system from remote. Hmm... looks like I cannot connect... RPC 
server unavailable. :-( Guess that's another thing I'll have to look into when 
I go to enable RDP.

Interesting that VNC told you that. I can only speak for Windows 7 RC1
build 7100 but we installed VNC (including the server portion) with no
problems on several desktops and have upgraded the VNC version several
times since then (which uninstalls/reinstalls the server portion). Works
like a dream for remote maintenance.

What errors (check logs) do you get when you try and start the VNC
server service from the start menu?

Try "Run as administrator" when installing?
