I remember on TNG, the Captain was dead set against killing the Crystal entity. 
 Why, it had a right to live even though it was destroying worlds.
But, when he finds out in a later  that Crusher is getting the best sex she's 
ever had (albeit with a spirit) it's a case of , "Monster! We've got to kill 
it!"
Jeez, talk about green-eyed jealousy.
