We run AV on the nodes of our clusters, and they run fine, you need to
do some exclusions, but not running AV on your server systems is
inviting you to get owned. 

On SQL just exclude .MDF, LDF, and .NDF>

So the 6 SQL clusters that I have, that all run McAfee antivirus, and 
never have any problem, shouldn't be working? :-)
