Bill - interesting to hear you say that - I work with an experienced Cisco
network engineer at one of the larger VARs on the east coast and he actually
prefers the ASDM over the CLI now (used to be the other way around with PDM).
He's starting to win me over, slowly but surely...

Have you seen any specific issues with the ASDM?

For the most part, I stay away from the Cisco GUI stuff. It's mostly an
after-thought. Go in and get your hands dirty in the IOS. I'm not saying that
there isn't any utility to the GUIs, but I particularly wouldn't trust it with
configuring a security appliance (ASA/Pix).

Thanks, all, for the responses...you guys are the best!

I tried all of your solutions but nothing worked. Then I found buried deep in
the Release Notes for the app (not in the system requirements that I would
think would be more intuitive) that you have to change a specific setting in a
properties file. Specifically it was changing the Java Virtual Machine memory
heap from the default of 1020mb to something lower. I changed it to 512mb and
that did it!

Is it me or does Cisco stuff seem overly complicated?

Anyway, thanks a million for all your suggestions.
