If you're talking even moderately serious gaming, build-your-own is really the way to go. If you go with one of the brands that's been sucked into a corporate behemoth (AlienWare, Voodoo) you're dealing with all the usual corporate bullsh*t, plus a real trend to get warmed-over consumer PCs. If you go with a top-notch whitebox brand (e.g., Falcon Northwest), you're paying through the nose for it. If you go with a low-price whitebox vendor (whoever), you're getting questionable hardware and no support. If you split the difference, the company might not be there in six months for your warranty/support issue. It's not like building a PC is hard these days. /Maximum PC/ is a good magazine for guidance if you need it. -- Ben ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
