Same thing happen to me last week. Had the same problem. Went to sites and services on the last step and said I didn't have permission to remove it. Had to go to the parent folder of the object, right mouse click on folder go to the security tab and give the administrator accout full access. Not sure why it changed but that did the trick for me.
