They were promised Outlook 2003 experience, which is why they went Notes
8.0. However, no one was aware that the Notes 8 client uses about 500
MB of RAM and these users only had about that on their PC's as they were
nearing a refresh cycle.

This entire Domino system was actually implemented by IBM at a great
cost to the customer, and 2 years into this, they still haven't been
able to get the 30,000 Exchange boxes all migrated due to issues, and
haven't even begun to touch Public Folders, as they can't get the mail
in DB's to work the way that the users are used to.

I'd like to hear that story. Many moons ago, I had to deal with
some Notes client support for some satellite offices that were
customers of mine. I never touched the server stuff. I found client
to be, frankly, the worst UI of any major program I've ever used. But
my experience is rather dated, so I'm curious what more recent stuff
is like.
