*Nothing* *ever* works "out of the box" without some sysadmin'ing first. Nothing. Many salesmen will tell you it's plug-and-play, and many users and bosses seem to think the same way, but it never is. There can be a world of difference between "we had it running in an afternoon" and "it took us six months of planning, deployment, and training", of course.
