well, as far as business continuity is concerned, if the DC is VM'd, and the hardware had a catastrophic failure, you could restore the virtual machine file to *ANY* virtual machine host you could put out there, regardless of differences ( video/disk/nic/mobo/etc ) And then you'd at least have the potential for testing new servers there in a VM without needing to shuttle new hardware or disks back and forth.
