A quick Google tells me that the Toshiba Strategy isn't VoIP phone. If
it's a plain ol' phone system and it ran on cat3, cat 6 will be just
fine. Overkill, but fine none-the-less. If you plan it out right,
you'll be in a better position for VoIP when you get there.

Subject: Recabling and office Expansion

We're planning on expanding our offices, and at this time I've been
asked to come up with needs for the rest of the office. Since the plan
is for us to stay here another 10 years recabling is high on my list.

I'd like to recable the office with Cat 6 everywhere, including phone
ports, but I'm unsure if the phones support Cat 6. We're using a
Toshiba Stratagy and will likely keep it based on my previous lack of
success for getting the owners to update. Can most older phone systems
be run over Cat 6 cabling (looks like we're running over Cat 3 now)?
I'd ask our vendor but he's a bit intractable. I'd like to have
flexibility for future, should the owners decide to change their mind.

Thanks,

Jonathan
