To all who have served, Thank you.

I did not have the honor of serving, but my oldest brother did. He was in
the Army for 22 years and retired in 2001.

He was in Desert Storm/Shield. When he was due to come home we waited for
him at DFW Airport. We had our banners and flags and there were other
families there, waiting for their son's and daughter's.

When my brother walked off the plane into the terminal, there was another
family there and a man, who was obviously a Vet, came up to my brother and
said, "Congrat's! You made it back. You made it back." My brother said
"Thanks," but he was tired from the flight and really didn't know what else
to say.

When my brother started to walk away, I turned to the man and asked him,
"Did you serve in Vietnam?" He said, "Yeah. Yeah, I did." I then said to
him, "Then it is 'we' who should be thanking you." I extended my hand to him
and said, "Thank you."

He stood there for a second and looked at me. Tears started to well up in
his eyes. He said, "No one ever thanked me before." We shook hands and he
smiled. He told me that he was waiting on his son. I told him, "Well, then,
let him know that we thank him, as well."

So, if you see a Vet, today, or any day, thank them for their sacrifice. It
means a lot to them.
