Indeed - first I heard of them...

Closest I've been is Clemson, where I visited an old high school buddy
of mine about three years ago. Wore the kilt the whole time, and
though people in Seattle thought I'd get mugged on the street, I got a
few interesting looks, nothing worse. Most thought it pretty nifty.
