Going out winning is pretty meaningless if you didn't make the playoffs.  At
best it's a moral victory which is cold comfort to any fan.

Of course, I say this being a Vikings fan with the full expectation that the
Vikings will break my heart during the post season.  Who knows, they might
try and break the record with most Superbowl losses...
