I’ll try that. It didn’t occur to me at first that calendar invites would be trimmed the same way, but I can see why it would.

You need to go back and reconfigure his mobile settings in Outlook. There are several options, one being just the message title or subjet, and the others allowing for more of the message to be displayed.
