NPP is used by http.sys to store connection information, so if it's exhausted
then no one can connect to http.sys (and hence IIS).

Someone asked about tracking leaks in NPP. You can use Poolmon to track down
what is leaking NPP:
http://www.adopenstatic.com/cs/blogs/ken/archive/2006/07/10/Using-PoolMon-_2800_Pool-Monitor_2900_-to-debug-kernel-memory-leaks.aspx

Note: this NPP problem usually only exists in x86, and prior to Win2k3 SP2
(which change the NPP limits to be a portion of free memory rather than 128MB).
In x64 builds, NPP is almost unlimited.

Ken

I have seen this when the Non Paged Memory pools has gone over about 103MB for
Exchange, it basically bombs out the IIS, and you have to reboot. It's a memory
leak.

Well it's fixed now, can't test. Reset IIS and recreated all the exchange
virtual directories, deleted ds2mb key, etc. Stable so far.
Last time it happened I remember 'something' was listening on port 80.

This ugly problem started again today. Changing the password in the metabase
didn't do the trick this time

Telnet localhost 80 just quits and brings me back to the dos prompt.
Nothing in the Event Logs
All services seem to be running fine... Full reboot didn't do the trick.

Idea!?!?!

My IIS is up and running but not actually serving up any pages, killing OWA and
EAS.

Nothing in Event Logs. Nothing in IIS logs. Almost every service has been
restarted for troubleshooting. Can't bounce the server today (Maybe at lunch).

It worked all weekend, perhaps this started after the full backup of the server
ran last night?

Help!?!

Thanks,
