I'll second contacting Jeff. I think you could migrate to Server 2008, then change the domain name, then migrate to SBS using a supported method and using the old name. Remember that it's not that you need to get it right now, but that when they launch SP3 for Exchange 2007 with WSUS 3 SP5 or whatever, it needs to still be working.
My own SBS box has an internal exchange mail store that dates back to SBS 2000, you only see it if things are exposed due to an error. Mike From: Michael B. In the past I have always changed the internal domain/DNS names when doing migrations like this. The client would like to keep the same name so that's why I'm asking. With out knowing the repercussions I would think that it could potentially cause a ton of issues.
