I’ve been using GoDaddy hosting for a couple of years now. The only complaint I
have is that their SQL Server database size is limited to 200 MB in non-VPS
hosting. I just looked and it appears that 1and1 has the same limitation.

Although, given the traffic my blog is generating now, I’m seriously thinking
about moving to VPS hosting anyway.

I use 1and1 to host our family/hobby sites (on a MS Shared business account). I
chose Microsoft (MS) shared due to using FrontPage extensions. They also have
linux-based shared hosting (which is a requirement if you want to use their
blog service). but since you mentioned MS-SQL, you'd want the MS shared service.

They currently offer 6 months free - feel free to use my affiliate link to sign
up: http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=14471910 (I had to go find this - never sent it
out before now!)

Subject: Web hosting
Anyone here got any recommendations for *professional* web hosting, including
an MS SQL database, etc? Needs to be Windows 2003. Don’t need email hosted,
just the web. We’re going to continue with our current host for email for now.

One name I’ve heard from a couple different people is
1and1.com<http://1and1.com/>. Anyone got any first-hand knowledge of them?
