I think the implications inherent in your choice of words are hilarious.

"Did you ever use..." implies in the past, back when Wave once WAS
useful/cool/interesting/promising"
"Have you ever used..." would have implied that Wave is STILL
useful/cool/interesting/promising.

Poor Wave.
