That did it Michael. Another one to file away in the reference book. If you want to use event log subscriptions from an R2 box, to pull from a 2008 box, install the update for WinRM on the 2008 box.

I've never tried to do a down-level or up-level subscription though. I do know that WS-Man was rearchitected for 2008 R2. Have you tried installing the WSMan 2.0 update for 2008 RTM? If not, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968929 to acquire the proper update. Only advice I've got. Regards, Michael B. I'm trying to set it up in my environment. My collector machine is 2K8R2. When I connect to another R2 machine, it works fine. When I try to connect to a 2K8 machine (not R2) I keep getting an error telling me to make sure the WinRM service is running, which it is. I haven't found anything in my searching saying you have to use R2 machines only, is that a requirement? ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
