Two corrections: I should have said "who won", not "who one".
Also, I meant that reply to go off-list. I wasn't thrilled with who one, either, but I'm not going to shoot up the polling place. ________________________________ From: Sherry Abercrombie [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2010 11:30 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Internet Issues Subtitle: What One Bullet Can Do To The Internet Get to work this morning (I'm not on-call this week) to find out that last night around 11pm the on-call person had been notified that internet connectivity was out at our office. Emails continued throughout the night and the cause was determined to be our wireless internet provider. Further emails this morning indicated that they had an issue that caused power supply(s) to go out. At about 8:45AM this morning, the VP of the ISP contacted our manager and told him that it was actually a bullet that had caused the issue. Yes, I said a bullet.... The tower that our radio is pointed at is where it happened. The techs that showed up this morning told us how big the hole was in the side of a metal box at the tower, and we're guessing a .44 caliber maybe......unknown whether it was a deliberate act or a stray bullet, but I believe that this tower is in front of an elementary school that was polling place yesterday. I'm wondering if someone was upset because of who did or didn't win..... We've got a temporary radio installed pointed to a different tower, but with limited bandwidth currently. What a fun morning. Current ETA is tomorrow morning before they can get the replacement parts. They are not finding it locally so it looks like it will have to be shipped overnight.
