Didn't work. However, I may have solved the problem. When I looked at the send/receive results it said it failed trying to send 20 messages. I gave up and created a new mail store and am copying all the user's existing email there.

Then when it pops up in the auto-complete arrow down to it and hit delete to get it out of the profile. That is just a wild guess but worth a try.
