I've put FF on Vista machines and had no problems. I suspect you'll probably find that there is something else going on. You might try uninstalling and reinstalling FF and see if that helps, but other than that and checking the plugins that have been added on to FireFox, I have no real clue as to what could be causing the problems you're describing.
