I have tried to use RDP via Vsat before and it was not great. I think that transferring the file is the only workable solution, but need to find the file transfer solution, its the keeping the file open at both ends of the link thats the issue, as the viewing software will need to read the file to display the data.
I am a bit dissapointed with the software vendor, as I thought they would have been able to make a suggestion as to a transfer package to use.
