I know it's fairly easy to shutdown a PC, through scheduled tasks, etc. What we want to do, is to shutdown the PCs, at a certain time, but give an escape option, in case someone is still working on their PC. Like a window that pops up saying "Your computer will shutdown in 1 minute. Click Cancel to prevent this."
