The way i've added network shares to the libraries, was to add them to the Media Player libraries.
Otherwise it wouldn't let me add the openfiler or linux shares with the error below. But as usual, YMMV Regards Tony Patton Desktop Operations Cavan Ext 8078 Direct Dial 049 435 2878 email: [email protected] From: "Steven M. This seems to be the new way of displaying info? There are group policies to configure them: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=18C90C80-8B0A-4906-A4F5-FF24CC2030FB Mike From: Sam Cayze [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 30 March 2010 16:32 To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Win7 & Net Shares In XP, it was easy to add links to our file server shares in the XP's Open/Save Dialog boxes. You could either edit the registry to add your folder, or add a folder to my network places. However, in Win7, you can only add shares to My Computer (Not sure if I like the change, technically a network share in not in 'My' Computer). There doesn't seem to be a way to make network shares easily advertised. (Our users primarily use network shares, not local storage. And I don't like/use mapped drives). Have any of you found a workaround?
