Greetings! I have been instructed to update the NIC driver on a pair of HP Proliant DL360 GS servers. Off to the HP site (which is finally running this morning), and I see not only Broadcom drivers but Broadcom network firmware as well. As advised, I first applied the network firmware update, and it ran very nicely(!). After a reboot, I tried to install the NIC drivers...
I have a pop-up with The Big Red Dot, saying "HP Virtual Bus Device installation requires a newer version. Version 4.6.16.0 is required." Back to the HP web site, and I can find nothing related to "virutal bus device". All I can find that is above version 2.x is either driver "HP ProLiant iLO Advanced and Enhanced System Mangement Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003". All the web site tells me is, "The HP ProLiant iLO Advanced and Enhanced System Management Controller for Windows provides system management support, including monitoring of server components, event logging, and support for the HP Insight Management Agents.". Windows device manager shows, in SystemDevices, "HP NC373i Virutal Bus Device". So, would that "iLO Advanced... Controller" driver be what I need? If not, what am I looking for? Thanks! -- Richard D.
