What do you mean by "promoting the server"? (dcpromo? Or some other kind of promotion?)yes dcpromo What do you mean by "cannot access the database"? application cannot login to the database What do you mean by "cannot start it"? go to services the sql instance is not not running start - fails What do you mean by "cannot uninstall SQL"? add remove programs select SQL 2005 it shows the instance select it, ok uninstall starts, gets to the database portion and errors out What have you tried? What errors are you getting? Etc. Now we cannot access the database, cannot start it, cannot uninstall SQL. Any clues on getting SQL off this box so we can reinstall Vipre and the other apps needing SQL????
