Check out Amazon's S3 service. I'm using it in conjunction with a bunch of EC2 stuff, but it's also available for enterprise or home-to-S3 use. Surprisingly cheap. There's also a tool called Cloudberry (cloudberrylabs.com I think) that makes the backup process stunningly simple...
My preference is local disk-to-disk backups with a cloud-based offsite. Tapes are expensive and a pain to manage by comparison.
