I'm not clear on what you are trying to calculate.
Rated bandwidth speeds are indeed linear. The line rate off 1Gbps Ethernet is indeed 10x 100Mbps Ethernet. Now your rated PERFOMANCE may not be linear (i.e. if you can saturate your 100Mbs link at observe ~80% utilization, you may not also be able to utilize your 1Gbps link at 80% also). But there are many factors in this, including host performance, NICS, latency of the links, etc... If I remember correctly, bandwidth/throughput availability does not increase over a lineal scale, right? If I am, then 100% utilization on a 10 Mb Fdx link would look like less than 10% utilization on a 100 Mb Fdx link and look like practically nothing (less than 1%) on a GigE Fdx link, correct?
