I have had very good luck with Proxim APs.  They are easy to configure and
have been rock solid in several small deployments.  You can usually find
them on eBay for around $125+-.  Whether or not used gear is appropriate for
your application is another question, but I have them installed at home and
a non-profit I help out.  No problems whatsoever for almost 4 years in one
case.

I just bought a handful of AP-4000s from Business Systems Connection, which
seems to be a very reputable vendor.
